Applications : 2-Hydroxy estrone is a major, weakly estrogenic, and non-proliferative metabolite of estrone, often referred to as a "good estrogen". It acts as an antiestrogen, protecting against estrogen-dependent cancers by competing with stronger estrogens (e.g. 16-Hydroxy estrone) and inhibiting cell proliferation, particularly in breast cancer models.
