Applications : 5-Methoxy-d₃ 6-hydroxytryptamine-d₄ is a deuterium labelled versation metabolite of Melatonin and an intermediate for the synthesis of labelled 6-Hydroxymelatonin, which protects against oxidative stress induced by cyanide in rat brain homogenates. It was examined the ability of 6-hydroxymelatonin to scavenge KCN-induced superoxide anion generation as well as lipid peroxidation.
