Applications : 6-O-Dansyl-GlcNH₂ is a novel fluorogenic glucosamine derivative remarkablely useful in labeling of lysosomes in living cells and imaging lysosomes in human breast cancer cells. This approach is used to study various lysosomal diseases, such as lysosomal storage diseases like Gaucher’s disease as well as neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease.
