Applications : This is an impurity of Lincomycin, an antibiotic. Lincomycin impacts protein, RNA, and DNA synthesis in Act. Roseolus. It inhibits protein synthesis mainly in Gram-positive bacteria by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit and disrupting aminoacyl-tRNA binding and transpeptidation; it also affects Gram-negative bacteria to a lesser degree.
