Applications : Advantame is an N-substituted derivative of aspartame and functions as a high-intensity, low-calorie sweetener. It can interact with plasma proteins and may induce hypotension, as well as inhibit the hERG K+ channel, leading to potential cardiotoxic effects. Advantame binds to the T1R2/T1R3 taste G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR), forming an oligomeric complex with NMBR that demonstrates biased heteromeric selectivity, resulting in marked sialidase activity in vitro. In prenatal developmental toxicity studies involving rabbits, Advantame has been associated with maternal gastrointestinal disturbances.
