Applications : This is an impurity of Cephalothin, which is a semi-synthetic cephalosporin and beta-lactam antibiotic. Cephalothin inhibits AmpC class C β-lactamase (Ki = 0.32 µM) and binds penicillin-binding proteins, disrupting peptidoglycan cross-linking in bacterial cell walls. Cephalothin is active against various bacteria and is used in hematological and nephrotoxicity research.
