Applications : This is an impurity of Clevidipine, which is a selective, short-acting L-type calcium channel blocker that causes rapid vasodilation by inhibiting extracellular calcium influx, lowering peripheral vascular resistance, and effectively controlling acute severe hypertension. Clevidipine also helps protect the myocardium from reperfusion injury by increasing nitric oxide release. Clevidipine is useful for studying acute hypertension, perioperative blood pressure control, and myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury.
