Applications : Dantrolene is an orally active, non-competitive inhibitor of glutathione reductase with a Ki of 111.6 μM and an IC50 of 52.3 μM. It also acts as an inhibitor of calcium channel proteins. Dantrolene blocks the release of Ca 2+ from RyR1 and RyR3 receptors, which may be helpful in conditions involving disrupted calcium balance, such as stroke, ischemia/reperfusion injury, and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, dantrolene provides relief from muscle spasms and malignant hyperthermia, and it has antitoxic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects.
