Applications : Eletriptan hydrochloride is an orally active, highly selective agonist for serotonin 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors, showing pKi values of 8.0 and 8.9, respectively. It suppresses neurogenic inflammation markers in rats, making it useful for migraine research. Both the salt and free forms of a compound demonstrate similar biological effects when used at equivalent molar levels. However, Eletriptan hydrobromide, the salt form, tends to be more water soluble and stable than the free form.
