Applications : Gemifloxacin mesylate is a fluoroquinolone that acts as an effective anti-pneumococcal agent and is active against quinolone-resistant pneumococci. Gemifloxacin mesylate is used in research on respiratory infections like community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (AECB). The salt form, Gemifloxacin mesylate, has similar biological activity to the free compound but offers improved water solubility and stability.
