Glibenclamide is an oral KATP channel inhibitor widely used in metabolic‑disease studies. Glibenclamide blocks SUR1‑containing KATP channels, inhibits P‑glycoprotein and CFTR, and alters mitochondrial ion flux, leading to bioenergetic changes. It can also induce autophagy.
