Applications : Ifenprodil is a noncompetitive NMDA receptor antagonist with marked NR2B selectivity (IC₅₀ = 0.34 µM) relative to NR2A (IC₅₀ = 146 µM). It also antagonizes α₁‑adrenergic receptors and inhibits GIRK (Kir3) channels, reducing basal inward currents. Beyond its neuroprotective, anticonvulsant, and antinociceptive actions, Ifenprodil inhibits A/H1N1 replication (EC₅₀ = 6.6 µM). It is widely used in studies of cerebrovascular dysfunction and peripheral arterial obliterative disease.
