Applications : This is an impurity of Mupirocin, which is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, preventing protein synthesis. It is highly effective against Gram-positive bacteria like Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, as well as some Gram-negative bacteria such as Haemophilus influenzae. Mupirocin is used in research on skin infections (including MRSA) and chronic sinusitis.
