Applications : Thiol-reactive reagent for labeling proteins at cysteine residues to study structure and function. MTSEA Biotin-XX is used as a chemical probe that reacts rapidly and specifically with thiols to form disulfides. It has been used to probe the structures of the ACh and GABA receptor channels and the enzyme lactose permease.
