Applications : This is an impurity of Terbinafin, which is an orally active and potent antifungal agent. Terbinafin is a non-competitive inhibitor of squalene epoxidase from Candida (Ki = 30 nM). It also shows antibacterial activity against certain Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This compound contains an Alkyne group and can act as a click chemistry reagent, undergoing copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules containing azide groups.
