Applications : This is a nitrosamine impurity of Esmolol, which is a cardioselective β1-adrenergic blocker with an ultra-short duration of action. It produces antiarrhythmic effects by activating the Neurokinin 1 Receptor. Esmolol also helps reduce myocardial dysfunction following resuscitation. In addition, it promotes diabetic wound healing by inhibiting aldose reductase, decreasing the formation of advanced glycation end products, and encouraging fibroblast migration. Researchers use Esmolol to investigate cardiac conditions such as arrhythmias and diabetic foot ulcers.
