Applications : This is a nitrosamine impurity of Gatifloxacin, which is a potent fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. Gatifloxacin inhibits bacterial type II topoisomerases and E. coli. Gatifloxacin eye drops are used to treat infections of the eye, such as bacterial conjunctivitis.
