Applications : Iminodiacetic acid acts as a metal ion chelator that specifically targets Cr6+, Cd2+, Ni2+, and Pb2+. It binds these metal ions selectively and irreversibly by coordinating with its carboxyl and imino groups. This process reduces the toxicity of the metal ions and enhances their adsorption and separation. Iminodiacetic acid plays a role in removing heavy metal ions and stabilizing coordination complexes. It is commonly used in environmental pollution control, such as for the adsorption of heavy metals in water, as well as in coordination chemistry research, including metal ion detection and separation.
