Applications : This is an impurity of Nateglinide, which is an orally active, short-acting insulinotropic agent as well as a DPP IV inhibitor. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of ATP-sensitive potassium channels within pancreatic β-cells. Nateglinide is indicated for the management of type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus.
