Applications : Proguanil-d₆ is a deuterium labelled version of Proguanil, which is a prophylactic antimalarial drug. It inhibits the dihydrofolate reductase of plasmodia and thereby blocks the biosynthesis of purines and pyrimidines, which are essential for DNA synthesis and cell multiplication.
