Applications : This is an (R)-chiral isomer of Tolvaptan, which is a selective, competitive arginine vasopressin receptor 2 antagonist. It can be used for the research of hyponatremia. Tolvaptan is used as a racemic mixture of both (S)- and (R)-enantiomers, which acts as a selective vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist to treat hyponatremia and ADPKD. Optically active isomers—specifically (S)-Tolvaptan—show higher metabolic stability and better absorption rates in vitro compared to the racemate.
