Applications : rac-Ethambutol-d₄ 2HCl is a deuterium labelled version of racemic (S,S)-Ethambutol, which is a bacteriostatic antimycobacterial agent, which obstructs the formation of cell wall by inhibiting arabinosyl transferases. Also an opposite enantiomer of (R,R)-Ethambutol shows antitumor properties when complexed with Platinum.
