Applications : Ruvonoflast is an orally active and CNS‑penetrant NLRP3 inhibitor that potently blocks IL‑1β release in human PBMCs (IC₅₀= 0.32 nM). The compound is an isopropyl ester that is converted intracellularly to its active carboxylic acid form. In mouse models of diet‑induced obesity, Ruvonoflast reduces weight gain, systemic inflammation, and astroglial activation. These properties make it a valuable tool for studying NLRP3‑driven neurodegenerative pathology.
