Applications : (S)-Laudanosine is an alkaloid present in poppy plants and represents the (S)-enantiomer of Laudanosine. It exhibits activity on both the central nervous system and the cardiovascular system by inhibiting low-affinity GABA receptors, with an IC50 value of 10 μM, which may lead to adverse effects such as seizures, hypotension, and bradycardia. Furthermore, Laudanosine demonstrates analgesic properties through competitive binding to the opioid Mu-1 receptor (Ki = 2.7 μM).
