Applications : Sulfapyridine, generated from sulfasalazine metabolism, is a sulfonamide antibiotic that inhibits P. carinii DHPS with an IC₅₀ of 0.18 µM. Beyond its antimicrobial activity, it also exerts anti‑inflammatory and anti‑rheumatic effects.
