Applications : Trifluridine irreversibly inhibits thymidylate synthase, blocking DNA synthesis and promoting apoptosis and autophagy. In addition to its antiviral activity against HSV and other DNA/RNA viruses, it serves as an important anticancer agent in studies of metastatic colorectal cancer and gastrointestinal tumors.
