Applications : Novel curcumin analog UBS-109 was found to have a potential stimulating effect on osteoblastogenesis and a suppressive effect on osteoclastogenesis in vitro through Smad activation and NF-κB inhibition, indicating a relationship with chemical structure and bone cell effects. It is useful as a therapeutic tool in the prevention and treatment of osteolysis with various pathophysiologic states in vivo.
