Applications : It is a 13-C labelled precursor for 13C-Glucovanillin, which is isolated from fresh Vanilla green pods. It is simultaneously transformed to Vanillin by a combination of enzyme activities involving cell wall degradation and Glucovanillin hydrolysis. It can be used as a internal reference standard to determine the authenticity of Vanilla extracts by stable isotope ratio analysis and component analysis by HPLC.
