Applications : It is a deuterium labelled precursor for Glucovanillin-d3, which is isolated from fresh vanilla green pods. It is simultaneously transformed to Vanillin by a combination of enzyme activities involving cell wall degradation and Glucovanillin hydrolysis. It can be used as a internal reference standard to determine the authenticity of vanilla extracts by stable isotope ratio analysis and component analysis by HPLC.
