Applications : XE‑991 dihydrochloride potently inhibits Kv7 family channels, including Kv7.1, Kv7.2, and Kv7.2/7.3 heteromers (IC₅₀= 0.6–0.75 µM), and effectively suppresses the M‑current (IC₅₀= 0.98 µM). Through blockade of KCNQ‑mediated potassium conductance, XE‑991 is commonly used to probe mechanisms of neuronal excitability and membrane potential regulation.
